Pure Natural Honey
Did you know that Raw Honey is a crystal, clear liquid extracted straight from honeycomb? Raw honey is not cloudy or discolored in any way. It is a misconception that raw honey should be cloudy. Bees produce only clear and cured honey before sealing it with a wax cap! We remove the cappings, extract the honey from the comb and strain it directly into our honey buckets for dispensing into jars. Clear and delicious honey is the result!
Our Raw, Local Honey comes from multiple local floral sources and retains healthy enzymes that promote well being. We identify it as "Meadow Blossom" since our honey bees forage on primarily clover, wild flowers and many other plants, trees and shrubs in our rural area.
Commercial honey producers typically destroy honey’s delicate flavor and enzymes by heating and ultra-filtering their honey to expedite the packing process. We do not!
Pure liquid honey may sometimes crystallize due to a change in storage temperature. Do not throw it out! Crystallized honey is perfectly safe to eat and in fact, honey has no expiration date.
Some of our raw honey is purposely crystallized and is a solid form of honey known as whipped or creamed honey! Our Whipped Honey is produced with fine grain crystals and is honey that you can spread. It is delicious on hot biscuits!
When stored properly liquid and unprocessed or raw honey, which comes straight from the honeycomb resists crystallization longer than processed honey.
Never refrigerate any honey, but store at room temperature. It may also be frozen for long term storage. Honey will not freeze solid due to sugar content. Thaw and bring back to room temperature before using.
Crystallization, which can occur anywhere from a few weeks to a few months after purchase, can be remedied by placing the honey container in a bowl of hot water for a few minutes. Never microwave or place container over direct flame.
